Volunteer and Work Exchange Opportunities
We are looking for energetic and positive people who love animals, the outdoors and who are willing to help us on our homestead in exchange for warm/clean room and great food. We usually have 2 volunteers/work exchange on the farm. We have a few goats, truly free-range chickens for eggs, and two cows; we also have two horses, dogs, cats, a vegetable garden, where we often, but not always grow vegetables for our own consumption.
Volunteer work hours are typically 20-25 hours per week with plenty of time to hang and relax.
We accept helpers year round as the climate is fairly mild in the winter and work continues throughout the year.
Currently we have a separate house on the property where we accommodate our guests. Dinners are usually eaten family style and everyone takes a turn cooking. As meals are included, help with preparation and clean-up is a must. Lacto-vegetarians are totally welcome.
We pick up from Valdosta, GA, airport, greyhound and Flix. Plenty of recreation opportunities available along the nearby rivers and natural forests for hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, or canoeing.
