Serenity Goats Today: Just Add Milk!!

Hi Everyone,

This is a beautiful day to …… be having goat babies. It seems today is the day where we will welcome the first babies of the season to Serenity Goats. Stay tuned and we will keep you posted.

FARM TOUR
It was definitely a beautiful weekend for a farm tour. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come out and visit us, our Serenity Farm Team was proud to show off their hard work to make the farm beautiful for this day. Even the cows had a surprise for us in store and provided an opportunity for a very close and friendly encounter.

MARKET SCHEDULE
Remember, we will be at Market Square Farmers Market on Timberlane Road only 1 time in November due to Makers Fairs and Craft Shows, and that is November 3. Please plan ahead and pre-order. We will be back as normal on December 1.

JUST ADD MILK!!
In time for the holidays, we wanted to share with you our favorite recipes to use milk in cooking. They taste great, are easy to make and healthy to boot. Some of them come from Got Milk and some from the Dairy Council of California. Enjoy:

Morning Oatmeal:
we are cooking our morning oatmeal with milk instead of water which gives us a whole lot more Vitamin D, calcium and protein and makes a creamer meal as well.

Rice Pudding:
6 Servings
Bring 3/4 cup of white rice to boil, drain and add 5 cups of milk, 1 cup of sugar, 1 split vanilla bean and a pinch of salt. Simmer over low heat, stirring a few times. After an hour, add another cup of milk, allow it to absorb and serve. Oh Yumm. You can also add raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, cranberries and honey.

Apple Pie in a Glass (Got MIlk)
4 Servings
4 cups milk
2 cups apple sauce
2 tsp Cinnamon
6 tsp Sugar (or honey or other not artificial sweetener)
Blend all ingredients until well blended! So delicious.

Chai Walnut Shake (Walnuts.org)
2 Servings
1 spiced Chai Tea Bag
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup Walnuts
3-4 ice cubes
1 1/2 cups of Vanilla Ice Cream
Dash of Ground Cinnamon, Ground Clove, and Pumpkin Pie Spice
2 tbsp Whipped Cream Oh My
Place teabag in boiling water and steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bag.
Combine tea, 1/2 cup walnuts and ice cubes in a blender and blend for 1 – 2 minutes until thick and walnuts are finely chopped. Add ice cream and spices, blend of 1 – 2 minutes. Pour into two glasses and top each with whipped cream.

Our freezer has no vanilla ice cream, so I’ll be right back …..
